QAD is commissioned in January 2011 to make an assessment of the suitability of a site for redevelopment to cater for a new hospice including both the children and adult. The assessment is also used to inform the cost estimate.
Following the development of the accommodation schedule and the grouping of the functions into overall department zones, an ideal adjacency matrix was developed to offer the most beneficial opportunities for sharing functions and space, with consideration also to control and accessibility.
Various construction options are further explored to achieve a balance between aesthetic, cost and sustainability.
