Springfields Centre, Grimsby
A completed project in November 2010.
To facilitate the relocation of the existing medical centre our proposal looks to provide a new Primary Care Centre on the site of the existing community centre to Springfield Road. The new Primary Care Centre references the street and neighbouring rugby club to provide an integrated community facility. The new £4million centre has been designed with the concept of a centralised core, ‘the heart’ – an internal bright and welcoming courtyard forming the reception, waiting area and circulation node for the scheme. The central core maximises the efficiency of the floor plans and minimises circulation routes. Allowing for future expansion, the proposal embraces the principles of sustainable development and is designed upon the basis of efficient whole life costing.
The scheme received planning approval in May 2009 and construction is due to begin Autumn / Winter 2009.
‘We work with a number of architects but we saw a refreshing approach from QAD who threw their heart and soul into the project form the very start thanks to the close involvement they’ve had with all parties.’
