Vickers Tank Factory, Leeds
On behalf of Bellway Homes, QAD submitted a reserved matters application in June 2011 for the proposed development of the Radial Park site in Leeds. Radial Park is located east of Cross Gates, approximately 6km from Leeds City centre. The application site forms the western part of the Former Vickers Tank Factory site for which outline planning permission is being sought on 4.93 hectares (12 acres) of the whole 60 acre site.
Pre-application advice had been sought from the local authority and Councillors. Particular reference has been made to guidance provided in Leeds City Council’s guide for residential design: ‘Neighbourhoods for Living’. Key areas such as public open space, footpath/cycle route, highways, garden sizes and house types were carefully considered.
